Growing up in Athens, Georgia, twin sisters Gracie Huffman and Eliza Lemmon have been singing together since they could remember.
In 2019, they formed a group called ‘peach!’ that was later renamed lighthearted. Made up of Huffman (piano, vocals), Lemmon (guitar, vocals), Toni Hunlo (drums), Win Cawthorne (guitar), and Aidan Hill (bass), the indie-folk band has a chill sound.
Their first single, “This Old Car,” was released in 2020 and has over 1.4 million streams on Spotify.
The vocals from Lemmon and Huffman beautifully compliment each other with similar clean tones. With rock and country elements, the group’s musicianship and songwriting is showcased on every track. Lighthearted fits on playlists alongside Lizzy McAlpine, First Aid Kit, Tiny Habits, and Sarah Gross (previously featured on Actuality here!).
Their latest single “again & again” came out on March 3, and was quickly featured on Spotify’s “Fresh Finds,” “Fresh Finds Indie,” and “Fresh Finds Folk” playlists.
While lighthearted have not yet released a full album, hopefully the release of this latest single is a sign they will be coming out with more music soon.
