"Shattering Glass Ceilings": Sarah Gross
An indie folk/country singer, songwriter and producer putting her heart and soul into her music.
From Long Island, NY, Sarah Gross is a singer, songwriter and producer. Comfortably placed in folk and indie genres with country influence, Gross' latest album "The Riversides" explores the nostalgic nature of water.
Gross is also an audio engineer and producer, working on her own tracks as well as collaborating with other artists. After graduating as a Sound Recording Technology, concentration in Jazz Voice major at Syracuse University in 2022, Gross is currently a freelance audio engineer as well as touring around the North East.
She has established herself in the Syracuse music scene and is expanding with performances around the Northeast. Gaining an impressive following of 13.6k on TikTok, Gross has opened for artists Sammy Rae, Lawrence, and Melt (featured in our third newsletter). She was also incredibly involved on Syracuse University’s campus as director of an a cappella group, member of audio engineering society, and various other choirs and ensembles.
Creating her own brand, Gross is forging her own path with fresh eyes and an exceptionally trained voice. Her songwriting is a glimpse into the experience of being a young woman figuring out her life. She has an uncanny ability of gracefully combining her experiences with an original melody with space for the listener to relate with every note.

“Though her brand of Americana draws from various influences, her goals remain centered: to create music that compels you to move, and empower you to shatter glass ceilings.”
Although her TikTok account is growing, her Spotify only has 3,900 monthly listeners. Go stream her 2022 album “The Riversides” and her latest single “Brooklyn (Only Rains)” and follow her on socials @sarahgrossmusic.
