It wasn’t until a back-packing trip through Asia and Australia in 2019 that she decided to pursue art full time.
"During my travels, I would spend my days studying strangers. I would quickly draw people in honest moments; reading on the subway, children playing in a park, a woman hanging up her laundry to dry. I realized how we are all connected to one another. We are all one. I was inspired by our similarities. Less became more.
Through my work I hope to portray the feeling of connection to one another. My work is intended to be simplistic, imaginative and expressive. I use energetic and bold lines to channel my inspiration and thoughts found in everyday life."
The faces in Ridenour's drawings connect organically as single line drawings and often include phrases between the figures. With a simple palate of primary colors, the work is instantly recognizable. Her prints, hand painted garments, paintings, jewelry, and even tattoo tickets can be purchased on her website or if you are in the Charleston S.C. area, stop by and have a chat with her.
With a large following on Instagram of 74.1K followers, Ridenour has been gaining traction. I met Ridenour this year at a night market in Charleston and had so much fun getting to know her and her style. Her artwork is truly unique and I love seeing the amazing images she shares on social media.
